The Dell Studio 17 is the most impressive 17-inch consumer notebook. Dell's Studio range merges the design ethos of the XPS range with the budget mindset of the Inspiron range. Featuring the same hinge and blade-type design as the XPS, it comes in a variety of colours including Midnight Blue, Ruby Red and Plump Purple all with Black U-Trim; and Graphite Grey with a choice of Black, Red, Blue or Pink U-Trims. Coming in two sizes, the 15-inch screen can be upgraded to a higher resolution of 1,440x900 with LED backlighting, and the 17-inch to 1,920x1,200 — although if you want LED backlighting on the larger screen, you're going to have to take a lower resolution of 1,440x900.
Both come standard with 3GB RAM, and if you enjoy typing in the dark, the keyboard can also be backlit for an extra Rs.800.
